Welcome at Star Wars Insider Magazine January 2023 Issue
There seems to be a lot of armor in this issue of Star Wars Insider Magazine. I wouldn’t call it a “theme,” and it hadn’t occurred to me until I sat down to write this editorial, but there are troopers everywhere!
Maybe it’s the after effects of watching the Empire’s soldiers make their presence felt in Andor (2022 -), or my ever-building anticipation for the imminent return of The Bad Batch (2021 -), or the fact that Season Three of The Mandalorian (2019 -) is just around the corner? Or maybe it’s because I’ve always coveted a complete Imperial stormtrooper outfit of my own (I am just the right height, unlike a certain Skywalker!), and that obsession has simply crawled its way out of the dark recesses of my psyche and onto the pages of this magazine?
Whatever the reason, the upshot is that this issue should probably have been printed on plastoid composite or beskarinfused paper. We speak to Bo-Katan Kryze herself, Katee Sackhoff, about playing the warrior who is soon to resurface in the new season of The Mandalorian. And to prime you for that returning series, we retrace the journey of Din Djarin and Grogu from the first chapter right through their return in The Book of Boba Fett (2021). Among other fun features, there’s a look atthe admirable attributes that make the Bad Batch a force to be reckoned with, and we interview Anthony Forrest about playing one of the more infamous stormtroopers from A New Hope (1977).
