You told us, and we listened! Pretty much every writer who completed our recent Reader Survey said they’d like to see a slot for paid submissions in Writing Magazine – and now there is one!
From this issue onwards, we’re opening up to monthly creative writing submissions from our WM subscribers. Each month we’ll be inviting prose and poetry on a different theme – see p57, right at the beginning of the new-look Get Published news section, for details. Knowing our wonderfully talented readership of writers, we’re so excited to read what you send us, and we’ll start publishing your pieces from the June issue.
With the new WM submission call, the competition supplement with 500 writing contests to enter throughout the year, and the fantastic advice on how to make book PR work for you, there’s a lot in this issue about getting your work out there. But don’t worry if you’re not yet at that stage! The writing journey isn’t a straight road from starting out to success – it involves all sorts of detours, rest stops, travels off the beaten path and unexpected adventures. You’ve set off on the right track and we’re looking forward to being a good companion on what we’re sure will be the creative journey of a lifetime.
