Good lord it is simply impossible to get away from video games based on Games Workshop titles right now.
Last month we had a new Imperial Guard-based co-op shooter announced, and this month we have a big preview of the Blood Bowl game. And, as we go to print, Necromunda: Hired Gun has been released. Every time we hit PEAK Warhammer, it just gets bigger and bigger.
However, that’s not what’s on our cover this month. Rather, while we’re sticking with a certain grimdark aesthetic, we’re looking instead at Darkest Dungeons 2,
a game which certainly has more than a passing familiarity with Games Workshop’s design ethic – and we mean that in the best possible way.
Ironically, however, the game’s moved away from the dungeon crawl in favour of, well, a road trip from hell. But with swords and dark magic.
So, you know… your average road trip.
