Metal Hammer UK – October 2020
English | 107 pages | pdf | 74.07 MB

QUITE HONESTLY, I don’t understand how we’ve even got to the year 2020 with Corey Taylor resisting the urge to put out a proper solo album. To be fair to the guy, he’s not exactly metal’s laziest personality, but he’s also not been shy about waxing lyrical about the many, often surprising, musical influences that have made him who he is. Finally, we get to hear those in all their overblown – occasionally quite ridiculous – glory, so what better excuse for a catch-up with metal’s favourite big mouth about his rollercoaster last few years and how, against all odds, he managed to find some contentment at the end of it?
Right as Metal Hammer Uk Magazine went to press for this issue, we received the devastating news that Riley Gale had passed away at the age of 34. As someone who was fortunate enough to meet and interview Riley on numerous occasions, I can personally vouch for what a deeply brilliant personality he was, and that he was a true credit to the metal scene. This issue is dedicated to him, and our thoughts are with his bandmates in Power Trip, his family and his loved ones.
Stay safe and look after each other, everyone.
