Knitting – January 2019
English | 132 pages | True PDF | 31.7 MB

This month we’re celebrating the inspiring yarn scene across the pond. We bring you 25 designs in gorgeous yarns from the US, Canada and South America. Canada features particularly strongly this time, with two beautiful makes by Bronagh Miskelly in hand-painted yarns by SweetGeorgia and Hand Maiden Fine Yarn. We’re also excited to be featuring a design by Ontario’s Koigu, and you can meet the three generations of women who pool their talents to create these fantastic yarns and designs in our profile. Read about Louis Boria, the Brooklyn knitter whose life changed after a photo of him knitting on the subway went viral. Plus, virtuous New Year’s Resolutions such as sorting your storage, banishing moths and beating bobbles, as well as great ideas for new craft ideas to try out. Here at Knitting we love the softness and warmth of alpaca. It’s perfect for keeping you cosy in the colder months, so you’ll find lots of designs featuring this fibre throughout our pages. A great deal of alpaca fibre comes from Peru and other South American countries, and perhaps it brings some of that southern warmth to our winter knits. So with all that plus all our regular features, you’ll find heaps to help you have a happy and knitty New Year in the January issue of Knitting magazine, out now!
