Welcome home: Come with us and get inspired by these showpieces

It’s February, so that means we are going back to home … homes, actually. We typically showcase several beautiful homes in the February/March edition of Grand Strand Magazine. And starting on page 94 you can see a collection of awe-inspiring abodes in a story written by Ashley Daniels and photographed by Scott Smallin.
In many previous years, we would be preparing for spring by previewing the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum Spring Tour of Homes. Unfortunately, the last few versions of the popular event have been canceled due to COVID-related concerns.
It has been an important Art Museum fundraiser and the museum staff was disappointed in having to cancel it for a third year, as were we. We are all hoping for this important-and fun-event to resume in the future. Our local institution is dedicated to being one of the finest visual arts museums in the Carolinas. You can continue to support the museum in a variety of ways, including contributions, memberships or volunteer work-just go to myrtlebeachartmuseum.org or give them a call at (843) 238-2510. In our second feature, starting on page 110, writer Charles
Glazer digs into some of the important work that Winyah Rivers Alliance performs. It’s an active organization with a mission to protect, preserve, monitor and revitalize the health of the lands and waters of the greater Winyah Bay watershed.
Also looking to protect and boost our area is a project called Partnership Grand Strand, which recently raised $3.1 million to enhance the region’s economy and quality of life for all residents. Writer Sara Sobota gives us a closer look at what’s planned for this expansive endeavor, starting on page 64.
In this issue you will also find our personal finance section, starting on page 157. This year, we again asked several Grand Strand Magazine financial experts to provide our readers with useful information on a variety of money matters. Please review their informative articles to improve your financial health in 2023!
Also, it is time to cast your vote in our Images of the Grand Strand photo contest for the Readers’ Choice winner at grandstrandmag.com. Once all the votes are tallied, you will be able to find this year’s winning image in the April-May issue.
Spring is on the way, so stay warm and safe and curl up with this latest edition of Grand Strand Magazine!
