Welcome to the new issue of Essential AppleUser Magazine, the world’s leading digital publication for Apple fans. This month’s mag is a Macs and Monterey special, with an in-depth report on the new MacBook Pros and a hatful of indispensable guides to using the latest Mac operating system.
We’ve been telling you about Apple’s macOS 12: Monterey for a few issues now, but at last it’s here, and it has some great new features. So many so, that we’ve given the entire
tutorial section over to Monterey guides, tips and tricks. The Messages app and its new features are laid bare, with instructions on how to use Photo Collections and Shared with You. There’s a lot new in FaceTime, including new audio shaping and a great way of conducting new Group Chats. You can even join a Group Chat using an Android or Windows device. Don’t miss our guide to Quick Note for system-wide jottings either.
It’s amazing how far the Mac, iPhone and iPad have been integrated over the last few years. This has reached its peak with Universal Control, through which you can operate an iPad and a Mac or two using a single keyboard and mouse/trackpad setup. Naturally, we show you how to do that as well. Look out too for our guides to Shortcuts, Live Text and Focus, on your Mac.
Talking of Macs, last month Apple unveiled two amazing new MacBook Pro lines.
Not only do they have great new Apple Silicon processors that are even more powerful than the M1, but they also bring back a series of features that have been sorely missed since they were removed. Welcome back, multiple ports, physical function keys and MagSafe! There are some great new features too, like a screen with smaller bezels and a new FaceTime HD camera. In this issue’s cover feature, we show you what’s new in the 2021 MacBook Pros.
Don’t forget we also have a reviews section bursting with great peripherals and apps, a gadgets section for the latest and greatest the world of tech has to offer and a special feature on Top Tips for macOS Monterey.
