BBC Gardeners’ World – August 2021
English | 150 pages | pdf | 339.75 MB

Viwer video have been a discovery and joy for everyone on BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine over the past 18 months – and we know you, our viewers and readers, love them too. They poured in at the height of last year’s pandemic and continue to delight the production team, so keep them coming! (Find out how at bit.ly/gw-viewer-videos).
In this same spirit of putting our audience at the heart of not just WHAT we produce but HOW we produce it, we’ve thrown open the doors of Magazine Towers to all of our readers – a genuine first in this, the magazine’s 30th anniversary year. And how you responded! Hundreds of readers got in touch via email and social media, offering enthusiasm, ideas and inspiration – and we whittled this down to 48 active participants.
We share a flavour of the stimulating conversations behind the content over the page and wherever you see the Takeover symbol. From big picture debates on the risks to wildlife, crafting advice for beginner gardeners or testing tools, through to phrasing cover lines, our readers got stuck in from conception to production. We hope you love the results, and find stories that speak to you and for you.
The over-riding message from every participant was the headspace and literal breathing space that gardens give us, however small our plot. It’s a great reminder, as we relax into the holiday mood of balmy August, to switch off our screens for summer and feed mind, body and soul with nature. We’ll see you, restored and ready, for some early autumn action, in our September issue. Until then…
