Welcome Australian Bartender Magazine June 2023 Issue

Welcome to the 268th edition. That feels like a lot of editions!. But one of the things the magazine is doing now, more than ever, is showcasing many different industry contributors. This month, Elijah Attard, chef and the man behind roots hospitality has a great story on the importance of glassware and the vessel you consume from. Make sure you check it out on page 36 and keep reading all the great content from our contributors like Cara Devine, Jono Carr, among others. This month Al Robertson from Sonny in Hobart gives us insight into his wine journey in Japan. Great stuff. We always welcome story ideas and contributions, so if you have something you want to write about, let us know.
Things are really heating up in Spanton Media HQ as we hurtle forward towards Sydney Bar Week 2023. This means locking in and confirming all the different events and parties that will be happening from 9-13 September. There is an awesome line-up with lots of your favourites back in action such as the House of William Grant Party, Bartender Boxing, Bacardi Brings Back the Boogie 2.0 plus the return of the infamous (and hilarious) Idiot Savant Prizes from the team at Ramblin’ Rascals. There are also a few new events which we are pumped about: The team at The Blend are bringing New York’s Katana Kitten for one night only at Maybe Sammy; and the team from Mix Haus in Perth are heading to Sydney for an All Female Bar Takeover. Check out pages 16 & 17 for some of the highlight events but for the most up-to-date timetable head over to sydneybarweek.com.au
This time of year also marks the end of Bar Awards voting. Now we get down to the business of downloading all the data that you have entered. Thanks so much for voting. We look forward to announcing the finalists in the July issue of Bartender Magazine and of course, the Bar Awards on September 13..
Cheers,
