Today I joined my 87-year-old mother for lunch. We visited about her day and the yummy homemade chicken noodle soup we both ordered. She was especially excited to tell me about the beautiful
flowers she had just received from my brother. Fortunately for both of us, she lives near my office in a caring community and I can run over for a meal or special program as my schedule allows. For that and many other things, I am truly grateful.
This month’s of Allrecipes October-November 2019 issue is our celebration of fall and Thanksgiving tables everywhere. We gathered 53 recipes that will both inspire your holiday menu and solve your weeknight dinner dilemmas during this beautiful season leading up to the big meal on November 28th.
When Thanksgiving day arrives, I’m typically up early to bake my favorite pumpkin pie while prepping a locally raised 30-pound turkey that’s as big as the inside of my oven. I’ve got the routine down. And when dinner is served, I enjoy the company and some moments of calm before it’s time to clean up. This year though, I’m going to be intentional and slow down—change up my routine—and take time to be thankful for all the days that are filled with moments like the one
I enjoyed today with my mom.
