Welcome at Vegan Life Magazine March 2022 issue

And welcome to another full-to-the-brim issue of Vegan Life Magazine. Can you believe that we are about to step into spring? It seems like only yesterday we were waking up to frosty Veganuary mornings! Sunday 20th March marks the Spring Equinox, ushering in longer days and (hopefully) warmer temperatures. I’ve already seen bluebells and daffodils peeking through the soil — a sight I have been longing for all winter. Spring is the perfect time to give your home a thorough once-over, but did you know that not all cleaning products are vegan? Plus, many are super harmful to the environment and wildlife. Our spring-cleaning feature this month will teach you all you need to know about cruelty-free and eco cleaning; what non-vegan ingredients to look out for and how to become greener in your cleaning routine. With so much new life emerging, spring also provides the ideal opportunity to look inwards at our own lives and habits and learn to live more minimally. To give you a helping hand, Amy Rohu is here to share seven easy ways to strip back to basics and embrace a more minimal lifestyle. After all — less is more!
Our special feature this month is all about beauty — with a focus on hair and make up. Sadly, animal testing isn’t yet a thing of the past, although it is banned in many places around the world, replaced by kinder and more accurate methods. To learn more about the archaic practice, we hear from Michelle Thew, chief executive of the world’s leading anti-animal testing organisation, Cruelty Free International. When it’s not tested on animals, make up is extremely fun to use — your face can be a canvas that allows your creativity to run wild! Getting into the spirit of things, we take a look at some of this year’s biggest beauty trends and learn how to make our own eco-friendly make up.
Also in this magazine issue, previous Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff talks to us about health and wellbeing; Maria Slough meets the inspirational bodybuilder Paul Kerton, and we share delightful recipes for vegan fry ups, bread, chocolate and a beauty boost.
Have a wonderful month!
Vegan wishes,
Gemma Tadman
