Welcome to February! If you have come to us following a successful Veganuary, then we extend to you a double welcome, and a congratulations — you made it, and are well on your journey to a more compassionate life. If you found Veganuary difficult, don’t worry, long-term lifestyle changes can take time, since you are breaking and changing many lifelong habits. But by purchasing this magazine you have invested in your own future, as well as future generations of humans and non-human animals. Our issue this month has got tonnes of tasty and practical vegan products for taking you beyond Veganuary. We have also got all the recipes you need — prepare for next month’s Pancake Day like a pro, learn how to make nutritious and delicious wholefood lunches, celebrate the Lunar New Year and give your mind and body a health kick with our Fit Feb meals.
There’s no better time than February (following the indulgences and intensity of Christmas and Veganuary!), to take back control of your mental and physical health. In our Fit Feb special, five experts give their advice on all things health, including tips on how to start an exercise routine, stay motivated, build muscle and recover both mind and body.
Our product pages will get you kitted out for whatever health avenue you would like to go down, be that meditation, yoga, weight training, nutrition or mindfulness.
This month, we were lucky enough to meet some incredibly inspirational people — ahead of their new cookbook release, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby from chefduo BOSH! chatted to us about their favourite recipes, as well as their top tips for newbie plant-based cooks. Likewise, Vegan Life columnist Karin Ridgers met with megastar musician and activist, Moby, to discuss the solution to all our planet’s problems, and Maria Slough talked with the influential Dr Shireen Kassam, co-founder of Plant Based Health Professionals.
Wherever you are in your vegan journey, rest assured, you are in extremely good company — if our jam-packed issue this month magazine teaches you anything, let it be that you are and will never be alone. You are part of the expansive and welcoming vegan community, and are appreciated by all those in it, as well as our most grateful benefactor:
Mother Earth.
Have a wonderful month!
