It feels like only yesterday we were holding our breath while unboxing a PS5 for the first time, and not long before that we were slipping on PSVR headsets for a completely new immersive experience. A new piece of hardware is a tangible representation of real-world technical milestones that allows us to create concrete, unforgettable memories.
While we’ve yet to actually touch a PSVR2 (p46) with our filthy haptic-spoiled hands, we’ve now seen the whole piece of kit. The next generation of VR is already making jaws drop in a way we expect will only be matched when we find out the price tag. It’s packed with some serious tech, and we detail everything we know.
Talking about knowledge, it’s been obvious for a while that Grand Theft Auto VI (p62) is in the works, something Rockstar confirmed not too long ago. The rumours have been so thick it’s been hard to cut through them to figure out what’s true. But our team of expert profilers (myself included) take a look at them to tell you what to believe, and what we’d most like to see.
As well as looking at GTA VI, we make time for its predecessor as we review GTA V’s PS5 debut (p76). It’s part of a reviews section that’s full to the brim with boundary-pushing games, whether it’s the sheer joy of Gran Turismo 7 (p72), a PS5 exclusive that you need to feel in your hands to believe in Ghostwire: Tokyo (p82), or a new path forwards for the now-PlayStation-owned Bungie in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen (p80).
PlayStation’s future will be exciting, and it starts here. Capcom’s keen to get in on the action, with three Resident Evil games coming to PS5 (p15), and Street Fighter 6 in the works – check out its training regime on p11.
We’re not only keen on new games, though. We make time to revisit some favourites, including a deep dive into the complete history of OlliOlli with the devs (p108). We hope you enjoy reading everything in the magazine !
