Discover Britain – August-September 2020
English | 83 pages | pdf | 52.56 MB
Welcome!
When I first read Bill Bryson’s Notes from a Small Island some 25 years ago, it had a profound effect on the way I thought about Britain. Written by the American author as he made a lap of honour before returning home, his outsider perspective reminds us what a rich wealth of heritage is packed into such a tiny archipelago.
At the heart of this issue, then, is a similar celebration of the simple pleasures that can be found in the smallest of places. We have features on Britain’s tiniest city (p62) and England’s most compact county (p20), as well as a round-up of our nation’s smallest attractions (p30) and three great short walks around historic parts of London (p50).
If you enjoy these little digressions, you can subscribe to Discover Britain Magazine online and have every issue delivered to your door, anywhere in the world.
Head to our subscriptions page (p32) to find out more.
