A few weeks ago, thousands of you joined us for our first Build It Live exhibition of 2022. We always talk about our shows as ‘going on site’. Coordinating these events – chock full of amazing ideas, practical advice and high-quality products for you to experience in the flesh – is probably the biggest project we do.
Much like on a major home build, we get a huge sense of satisfaction once it’s all done and dusted.  e highlight is knowing that, through our expert team, curated workshops and carefully-selected exhibitors, we’re playing a part – sometimes small, sometimes significant – in helping you make a success of your dream self build, renovation or extension.  at same goal drives us in producing the pages of this magazine every month (and we have another great issue in store for you!).
One thing that struck me at this show was how many of you – in the words of Fleming Homes’ Sarah Mathieson (page 83) – had a lot of your “ducks in a row” already. Many of the appointments on the Ask Our
Experts desk were deep-dives into site-specific challenges; while others simply needed reassurance they were heading down the right path. I think that just goes to show how much pent-up demand for bespoke homes has built up in the past two years. Many of you have clearly been using that time to do plenty of research, and I’m excited to see all your projects as they come to fruition. We don’t have too long to wait until our next chance to see you in person: Build It magazine Live will be returning on 11th and 12th June in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
