THE MISSING MANUAL: WINDOWS SETTINGS
The sheer number of settings in Windows is both a blessing and a curse. While the ability to tweak how Windows looks and works means you can get it running just as you want it to (or thereabouts), it also means you have to navigate an array of menus to find settings you’re after. And with each Windows update (the next, codenamed Redstone 5, is due in the autumn), more settings are added and existing ones changed. We’ve been using Windows for many years, but hidden options we’ve never noticed before still crop up. To offer a guiding light, this missing manual will detail the main categories of Windows settings and explain what you can expect to find in them. We’ll also highlight some hidden settings, and those you should change.
