This issue of Blitzed has seemed to naturally develop a theme. Of family and authenticity. Cohesion and hope. Both within our own tea1m as we go forward, and amongst the artists we’ve reviewed, featured and interviewed. It’s clear that the music industry particularly is in a state of flux, and that artists, both legacy a1nd new, have to work even
harder to get heard] and make a living. Especially after the last two years of a global pandemic .
Creatives of all kinds, from writers to performers have been hit hard, with tours cancelled and day jobs in limbo. Here at Blitzed we feel strongly that creativity has value. It’s not a mere product, but the result of tale1nt and hard work. So, as we begin to have more freedom, it’s important to support the artists we love. So, buy the merchandise, go to gigs if you can, buy the books, purchase art and physical products. Keep the things that have meant so 1much to us during difficult times alive!
This month we have a packed issue. An exclusive with Alan Rankine of the Associates, a revealing feature on the Vancouver band ACTORS and Dusty 0, the icon-
ic Soho artist, in his own words and pictures. We’ve reviewed gigs and music both new and legacy and Lucy Robinson talks about how MTV changed the world. There are ou1r regular features, with contributions from Kevin O’Dowd, Mik Scarlet, Paul Browne and Calum Grey amongst others and personally I’d like to ·thank everyone for working so hard and with such passion.
We hope you continue to enjoy the magazine, and we love to hear comments from our Blitzed family.
