Blocks Magazine – Issue 89 – March 2022
English | 118 pages | pdf | 75.86 MB

This issue of Blocks magazine is revisiting the LEGO Group’s best-known flop. To mark the 20th anniversary of Galidor, we’re going to take a look at the action figure theme to see if it is as
bad as fans remember.
First, Daniel Konstanski will provide a run-down of what the theme was, why it failed and how the toys hold up today. Then, LEGO Senior Model Designer Nicolaas Vás will tell the fascinating story of a creative journey he went on with Galidor.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is almost here and we’re previewing the new game, as well as looking back at the classic titles that started this whole LEGO video game series. It’s hard not to get swept up in a Jedi robe of nostalgia as soon as you recall some of those familiar brick-busting levels.
One LEGO theme that always looks forward and never back is Speed Champions. Design Manager Chris Stamp returns for a chat about the latest lineup, talking us through each new car and explaining how his team have improved the range for 2022.
There’s much more besides, including reviews of The Batman movie sets, 21332 The Globe and the latest Collectible Minifigures. If you want to do some creative building, there’s a new mod to make the ATAT more minifigure friendly and a modern update of the classic Dragon Knights Magic Shop set.
If you haven’t subscribed to Blocks yet, do so today – you won’t want to wait until Issue 90 arrives on shop shelves; it’s going to be a special one.
