Welcome at Men’s Fitness UK magazine February 2022 Issue
One of the fundamental aims of this magazine is to inspire and motivate the everyman. We want to help fitness first-timers get their feet in the door, but we also want to continue to provide more seasoned exercise enthusiasts with the tools they need to prevent progress – and passion – from stalling. And who better to help with that mission than the men for whom fitness is quite literally a lifestyle?
This issue, we’re taking a top-down approach to matters of physical conditioning, by speaking to elite athletes at the top of their games. That means world-record-breaking powerlifter John Haack revealing the strength secrets you need to improve your bench, squat and deadlift numbers, and former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall providing a glimpse into the 24/7 strongman lifestyle (raw steak in-between sets, anyone?). We also speak to ex-Army officer turned ultra running prodigy Tom Evans about his unique strength-focused approach to endurance; Red Bull kiteboarding sensation Aaron Hadlow about balance, backflips and core strength; England cricket legend Stuart Broad about power transfer and unilateral leg strength; and UFC star Dustin Poirier on adopting the cage mentality.
Most of us don’t harbour ambitions to pull a half-ton deadlift, or run 100km through the Alps, but every one of these athletes can teach us something applicable to everyday fitness – whether that’s how to fine-tune your physique for the life you lead, or the art of silencing the voice of self-doubt when you feel like you’ve got nothing left.
